Kenyan Outreach, Inc. 501(c)3 Charity

KOI traces our roots to the vision of Pastor Peter Kaimathiri M’Tuamwari, who founded Kioni Generations High School in the Meru Kenya area in 2002 to provide educational opportunities for orphans and other abandoned children.

Kioni High School was adopted as a mission project for East Cobb United Methodist Church in Marietta, GA in 2006. As the scope of mission increased, a separate entity dedicated to the needs of the people of Kenya was required. KOI was conceived in 2011 and granted 501(c)3 status in 2013, allowing donations to be tax deductible per current IRS regulations.

In 2013 a decision was made to close the Kioni Generations High School due to the proliferation of public schools in Kenya.

KOI changed our model at that time to begin providing merit-based scholarships to enable orphans and other abandoned children to receive a high school education that “the least of these” would not otherwise receive.
